REFEREE RECERTIFICATION CLASSES

All Grade 8 and Grade 9 referees must recertify annually to keep a current certification and be able to referee for the Dearborn Soccer Club. The 8-hour recertification class is conducted by the Michigan State Youth Soccer Association Referee Committee and requires the referee to successfully pass a written test. The grade 9 referee may take a bridge class to become a grade 8 referee in lieu of a recertification.

To Enroll: The Dearborn Soccer Club does not host a referee recertification class in Dearborn. To get information regarding recertification and bridge classes hosted in other cities, visit the Referee Committee website at http://www.msysareferee.net. Most recertification classes do not require registration, but some with limited capacity may require on-line registration. The bridge class will require on-line registration and payment by credit card or mailed check. The cost is $35 for the recertification and $40 for the bridge class.

Recertification classes are generally held over the winter and are posted sometime late October or early November. A bridge class may be held in the summer or over the winter.

Any questions regarding the classes should be addressed to the contact persons on the MSYSA Referee website.
