Divisions will be single age groups, unless they are combined to have enough teams to form a division. Each team will be scheduled a minimum of three (3) games.
Team Eligibility
Rosters. All teams must be currently registered with a state, national, or provincial association. Teams that are not members of MSYSA and/or US Youth Soccer must fill out the MSYSA non insurance coverage and acceptance letter. Forms are available at www.michiganyouthsoccer.org or by calling the MSYSA office at 734-459-6220. Tournament rosters will be Fall 2011 season rosters, and each player must have a picture passcard at check-in. No specially-formed All Star teams will be permitted. Players can be registered with only a single team for the Tournament.
Guest Players. Up to three (3) guest players may be added to a team’s roster provided that proper documentation is also supplied for each of the guest players. An official MSYSA guest player roster and fee must be mailed to MSYSA in advance of the tournament to allow MSYSA enough time to process the roster and guest passcard. Approved guest player roster and passcard must be presented at check-in. Forms are available at www.michiganyouthsoccer.org or by calling the MSYSA office at 734-459-6220.
Out-of-State Teams. State-approved Application for Travel Permission forms from the home state of the team must be presented at check-in by out-of-state teams.
Medical Release Forms. All teams must have in their possession at registration and at all games a signed medical release form for each player. Forms are available at www.michiganyouthsoccer.org or by calling the MSYSA office at 734-459-6220.
Risk Management. Each Michigan team must comply with MSYSA Risk Management rules. Risk management cards are required to be worn on a neck lanyard by every team official on the team’s side of the field.
Awards and Souvenirs
U-13 and above will receive individual trophies for first and second place. U-12 and below will receive participation awards. Each player will receive a patch and a tournament book as part of the entrance fee. Souvenir Tournament T-Shirts will be available for purchase at the main tent at Crowley Park.
Red and Yellow Cards
All yellow cards will be reported to your league. If any player, coach, assistant coach or manager received a red card during the tournament and was not able to sit out the required game, the red card will be reported to your league.
Tournament Rules
Tournament rules are available on this website.
Refunds
Once your team is accepted, no refunds will be given. A small-sided team required to play a larger format will not be given a refund, but will be allowed to increase its roster. In the event a team does not play due to the cancellation of other division teams, a refund can be given. In the event tournament play is postponed, games shortened or the tournament cannot be played due to severe weather or act of God, no refunds will be given.
Cancellations
In the event a team cancels prior to the start of the tournament, diligent attempts will be made to find a suitable replacement. If none can be found, the tournament committee will attempt to find a team a year younger or older to play an exhibition game. Such exhibition game will be treated as a 3-0 win for the affected team. If no team can be found, the affected team will receive a 3-0 forfeit.
